Planned Tree Trimming

Canadian Niagara Power's Tree Trimming Program is intended to help protect the public, protect property and maintain electric reliability. CNPI has a legal responsibility to trim trees around or near power lines. This program provides safe and reliable electricity. CNPI must keep trees that are located near power lines pruned on a regular cycle and trim trees a certain distance away from the power lines to allow for growth until the trees are trimmed during the next cycle.

To better serve our customers, CNPI. has contracted Davey Tree Expert Company to perform tree trimming in Fort Erie and Port Colborne. Throughout 2025 Davey Tree Expert Company will be working in the following areas of each municipality:

In Fort Erie maintaining our power lines in the yellow area in Figure 1 that approximately encompasses South and West of the Niagara River, East of Winger Road, and North of Eagle Street, Bowen Road, Bertie Street.
